USA • Wellspring Capital Management, a US-american private equity firm, announced the creation of a large flexible packaging company through the merger of Prolamina Corporation and  Ampac Holdings. The newly acquired Ampac brings 13 locations while Prolamina adds three. The combined company will be headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Financial terms were not disclosed.

At the FachPack trade fair, Bischof + Klein (B+K) is presenting a range of packaging solutions for industrial and consumer goods. The newly designed “Twister Plus” wicketed bag for tissue products, for example, requires around seven per cent less material. This involves reverse-printed hygiene packaging with a handle and easy opening function.
