GERMANY • The winner of the Jubilee Award for the “Green Technology” category is Applied Materials Web Coating. The German affiliate of the international supplier of materials engineering solutions received the award for the TopBeam product.

GERMANY Following several months of on-line voting, at the first day of ICE Europe 2017 the four winners of ICE’s Jubilee Awards were announced. There were a total of 39 entries for the four categories “Innovative Partnerships”, “Industry 4.0”, “Green Technology” and “Converting Solutions for New Materials”.

USA • The colour science and technology company and its subsidiary Pantone LLC has acquired the ColorCert software assets from Nelissen Consulting, a privately held company in Germany.
ISRAEL • US manufacturing company Danaher Corp. is buying automatic print inspection systems company Advanced Vision Technology (AVT) for USD 100 million. The company will become part of Danaher’s product identification platform division. AVT’s board of directors has accepted the offer and the acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2017.
Germany • In February, Siegwerk Druckfarben, an international supplier of printing inks for packaging applications and labels purchased the business unit “Plastic Tubes and Laminates” from Schekolin AG, a provider of packaging lacquers located in Liechtenstein. With this acquisition, Siegwerk broadened its portfolio by adding specialty UV varnishes suitable for plastic packaging including rigid tubes.

SWITZERLAND • 2016 was a good year for the Bobst Group financially as sales increased by 8.7% and operating profits increased to CHF 103.7 million compared with CHF 83.9 million in 2015. But the company warns of uncertainty ahead this year.
