Atlas Converting – Titan ER610 demonstrated at AIMCAL Slitting School

USA • The AIMCAL Web Slitting Technology course was held in Charlotte, North Carolina with machine demonstrations at Atlas Converting’s office where attendees got to see the Titan ER610 in action. Attendees from a range of companies, both large and small, came to the two day course designed to expand the knowledge of operators regarding web slitting technologies, equipping them with the skills to take back to their workplace and improve their own processes and mange potential problems they are facing now or may face in the future.

The course covered a range of topics and techniques including extensive discussion of razor, crush/score and shear slitting technologies, providing “important-to-know” slitting process control information. Important shear slitting geometric dimensions and dynamic operating conditions were covered in detail, as well as six key knife factors and metallurgy options relative to improving slit edge quality and extending knife life. As well as set-up techniques and best practices, attendees also discussed trim removal equipment, set-up requirements and performance concerns.
