W&H – K 2016 numbers ‘beyond expectation’
GERMANY • Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) announces it had more than 10,000 visitors to its booth and 1,001 guests at its company headquarters in Lengerich for an in-house Expo. Positive feedback on the technological innovations and a large number of orders made the show a huge success for W&H.
The company displayed its 5-layer Varex II blown film line running the intelligent Turboclean automation module. W&H said it is the first and only blown film machinery manufacturer to demonstrate complete job changeovers, including changing seven components, film width, thickness and color at a show. It also did that three times per day, each in about 12 minutes. The demonstration included a video that made clear how intelligent machinery can have a positive impact on the efficiency and economics of production, with its example showing an 6% increase in machine uptime.
Visitors to Lengerich saw the complete spectrum of machinery by W&H from extrusion to printing to converting. The newly launched Filmex II cast film line for the manufacture of stretch, CPP and barrier films ran a 2,700 mm (106”) asymmetrical barrier film for deep draw applications. The new Film Performance Monitor (FPM), integrated into the automation of the line allows for consistent and reproducible film quality.
