UK • DS Smith announced its annual report, which focused on its performance for the year 2015-16, and described how each division performed. The company said it has significantly grown its corrugated business and market share across Europe through the acquisition of operations in South Eastern Europe, Iberia, Greece, Turkey and the UK.
ITALY • Uteco announced two sales in the Ukraine; one Diamond HP 812 mod. 130 was sold to Pamibro Ltd., a paper sack manufacturer for the construction, chemical and food industries established in 1996 in the Ivano-Frankivs’k region.

INDIA • Huhtamaki, a Finnish food and drink packaging manufacturer, announced it has acquired 51% of Val Pack Solutions Private Limited, a privately held paper cup manufacturer based in Mumbai. With the acquisition, the company enters the growing foodservice packaging market in India, where many of its key customers are present, it said.
BELGIUM • Asahi Photoproducts congratulated its customer, DS Smith in Fulda, for its two prestigious awards from the FTA Europe Diamond Awards.

POLAND • Flint Group announced its new Global Colour Centre with solution-based competencies, including a demo centre, customer academy, 24/7 colour matching, and digital colour management solutions supporting all four of Flint Group’s packaging business segments — Paper & Board, Flexible Packaging, Sheetfed and Narrow Web.

USA • Unilux, a designer and manufacturer of strobe lights for surface inspection in the metals, printing/converting and papermaking industries, announced Tom Herold as the company’s vice president of sales for the Americas.

UK • Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury, formerly Chadwicks of Bury, announced that it is celebrating 70 years in flexible packaging. In 1935 Ronald Chadwick began work as a general supplier to the farming community around Bury.
