GERMANY • Asahi Photoproducts, which recently won an EFIA “Gold Award” for its pinning technology for clean transfer, has announced its drupa offerings and location, Hall 11, Stand A60. They include an update on its newest plate development technology, the AWP-DEF water-washable plates, which it said works well for fixed colour palettes.

USA • Hammer Packaging installed a Mark Andy Performance Series P7 press along with a Rotoflex VLI 440 finishing system. The new 17-inch, 10-color P7 press includes combination hot air drying/UV curing, a Mark Andy Quick Change Die Cut unit, web turnbar, cold foil and lamination capabilities.

UK • Smithers Pira forecast that world demand for corrugated board packaging will increase steadily over the next five years according to its market data. Globally growth in demand for corrugated board packaging is showing signs of a slowdown.
USA • Brookfield Ametek announced it is offering its Practical Course on Viscosity Measurements through the middle of November at the company’s headquarters in Middleboro, MA and in major cities across the United States.
GERMANY • D.W. Renzmann announced it will present its new Flexplatecleaner for cleaning flexographic printing plates at drupa (Hall 16, Stand D39). The company said the system gently cleans and dries flexo plates, allowing them to be reused immediately.

GERMANY • Hell Gravure Systems announced its new High Performance Package that almost doubles its Cellaxy direct laser engraver performance when engraving gravure cylinders or lasering embossing forms. The package is now available and previously installed systems can be retrofitted, the company said.

UK • Flexible packaging group Uni Packaging announced it’s supplying coffee roaster Purssells London with pouches for its speciality blends. The company manufactures the pouches from a PE/aluminium laminate, incorporating a tear notch, re-close zipper and venting valve.
