SWEDEN • Primeblade Sweden AB released its new doctor blade, the 900 Nano+. Both the patented treatment process and particles have been changed, the company says, to create better durability and strength. The new treatment will give better blade life and performance than standard Primeblade 900 Nano blades, according to the company.
The blades also bend less to keep the optimum contact angle against the anilox or printing cylinder and create excellent wipe conditions
ITALY • Grafikontrol is updating its services based on the Total Quality Control 360° (TQC-360°) system. The TQC-360°, which is currently awaiting its patent, is a modular platform developed to provide printers with a solution to guarantee quality.

USA • Printpack celebrates 60 years in the world of consumer packaged goods. USA • The liquid-packaging converter achieved the production of the first fully renewable gabletop-carton package for the US market. Tetra Pak Gable Top Bio-based packages are made solely from renewable materials, defined as natural resources that can be replenished over time. The new cartons are developed from a combination of paperboard and sugar cane-derived plastics.

LUXEMBOURG • Flint Group announced it issued a binding offer to Siegwerk Druckfarben to acquire its web offset business. This offer includes the transfer of all technical expertise and product portfolios relating to Siegwerk’s Heatset and Newsink product lines.
AUSTRALIA • On a constant currency basis, earnings per share (EPS) was up 10.2%, whereas PAT on a constant currency basis was up 6.6% to USD 342.6 million.
USA • Sonoco reported consolidated financial results for its fourth quarter and full-year 2015. Fourth quarter net sales declined 3.8%, and for 2015 were down 1% from 2014. Sonoco said consumer packaging and protective solutions were its biggest performers that were partially offset by lower results in paper and industrial converted products.
USA • The board of directors of Bemis Company, Inc. has increased the authorization for share repurchases by 20 million additional shares of company stock, supplementing the 2.4 million shares remaining from the previous share repurchase authorization by the board in May 2014 for 8 million shares.
GERMANY • Lohmann will present its products and new innovations at drupa this May and June in Dusseldorf. In addition, TRESU and Lohmann plan to show the first results of their partnership.

ITALY • Uteco Group announced the new model of its Onyx line, the Onyx XS 4.0 Evolution will be demonstrated at drupa. The flexographic press is a compact, eight-colour press for printing repeats up to 650 mm (26”), according to the company.
UK • German manufacturer Seufert Transparente Verpackungen announced it will focus its exhibition around the food and beverage market at the Packaging Innovations show at the end of February in Birmingham. The company, which develops and produces transparent folding boxes, sleeves, lids, bases, cartons and thermoformed parts, said its 2016 theme is Gourmet World.

USA • Pamarco will celebrate its 70-year anniversary later this year. Since its formation in July of 1946, Pamarco has evolved to supply printers in many industries products, technical training and support, the company said.
