ITALY • Digital Flex announced it has purchased the Nyloflex Automated Plate Processor Iris Inliner from Flint Group Flexographic Products. The contract finalizing the machine’s purchase was signed after about six months of beta testing.
CHINA • Hy-Flexo announced analysis from one of its customers that shows its CI flexo press reduced costs and improved productivity in corrugating preprinting. Shanying Paper reported its production capacity for each shift increased and things like full use of the board, with fewer edges, has helped reduced costs when compared to its offset press.

GERMANY • Windmöller & Hölscher Group announced it will present its product portfolio on more than 1,000 sqm (10,760 sqft) in Hall 15, Booth A41 at drupa. A new generation of flexo and gravure printing presses will be premiered, and the company said that live machine demonstrations will run several times a day.
VIETNAM • Comexi participated in the Pro & Pack Vietnam fair that took place 1-3 March. Visitors had the chance to see the company’s latest solutions for the flexible packaging field, which included technology in flexible, rotogravure and offset printing; lamination, slitting and logistic accessories.

GERMANY • Saueressig and Schawk announced they will jointly exhibit at drupa under the new brand SGK. The rotogravure and special machinery solutions manufacturer and the data handling services and flexographic printing specialist will present the companies’ latest developments and advancements, including RGB printing, Digimarc, printed electronics and holography printing.

BELGIUM • FTA Europe announce that the inaugural FTA Europe Diamond Awards ceremony will take place on 2 June during the drupa exhibition. The organization said it is looking for interested sponsors and attendees.
USA • PRIMIR, the Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization, the research unit of NPES, announced five new studies to be completed this year as well as a new strategy to provide members with research results faster in a variety of formats.
USA • A new study reported that US demand for food containers is projected to increase 2.8% per year to more than USD 31 billion in 2020.
USA • MacDermid announced it plans to preview its newest additions to its Lux In-the Plate (ITP) platform at Infoflex later this month in Fort Worth, Texas. What the company calls Flat-Top Dots out of the Box is adding two options, Lux ITP 50 and Lux ITP C.
SWEDEN • SCA announced it has developed a new technique for producing round corrugated board packaging that offers new design possibilities while reducing packaging weight by 30%, thereby also improving environmental performance. Arcwise can be deployed in standard corrugated board production facilities, the company said.

SWITZERLAND • Bobst Group, a supplier of equipment and services to the packaging and label industries, announced its consolidated sales were EUR 1.2 billion in 2015, an increase of EUR 28.6 million, or +2.4%, compared to 2014. Adjusted for currency effects and acquisitions, organic sales were up 6.8% in 2015.
GERMANY • BASF has announced its researchers have succeeded in improving the composition of the individual semiconductor ink components to double the mobility of the charge carriers in the printed circuits. This can further reduce the size of the structures and produce high resolution LCD or OLED screens on plastic substrates.
INDONESIA • The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies (NPES) and the International Color Consortium (ICC) announced the presenters and sessions for the Color Management Conference to be held on 17 March in Jakarta.
