Clondalkin Flexible Packaging – Welcomes first female engineering apprentice

Lauren Stone, Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury’s first female engineer, has joined the company on a three-year apprenticeship (Source, Clondalkin)

UK • The die-cut lid and shrink sleeve manufacturer Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury (formerly Chadwicks) has appointed Lauren Stone as an Engineering Apprentice. She joins the company on a three-year apprenticeship and is the company’s first female engineer.

Working on a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance – EME Engineered Systems (Pathway E) Advanced Apprenticeship, Lauren is working in the production department. Initial responsibilities include managing the change and setting of cutting tools, as well as the maintenance of a variety of printing, cutting and sleeving machinery and equipment.

“Lauren is a welcome addition to the team bringing with her a keen interest in learning and great enthusiasm. We are delighted to have her working with us and developing her skills,” said Simon Timperley, manufacturing manager.
