GERMANY • Clariant launched new Eco pigment grades, organic pigments and water-based pigment preparations at drupa to expand sustainability possibilities in the world of non-impact printing, it said.
The pigments meet industry demands for cost-efficiency, colour stability, a broader colour spectrum, and improvements to the safety and environmental impact of digital printing. Target applications include magazines, brochures, posters, textiles, packaging and labelling.
Its Prelect TPS Nano Silver Conductive Inks for ink- and aerosol jet application are water-based inks that contain metal particles and specifically developed dispersants and capping agents. The inks enable manufacturers to print electric patterns directly onto any surface while eliminating hazardous chemical metallization processes. Productivity-wise, depending on the application, the direct printing of electrical traces in connection with additive manufacturing cuts down on the number of manufacturing steps compared to electroplating.
