USA • A joint open house was held by KYMC and Werthan Packaging in White House, Tennessee on 25-26 October. The event hosted more than 130 attendees between the two days, who saw the new generation of a KYMC 10-color Euroflex gearless press demonstrating machine automation for job changeover and set-up.

UKRAINE • The European Rotogravure Association held its 2016 Packaging & Decorative Conference on 3-5 November in Kiev with the theme “Gravure printing in transformation — Ukraine in transformation”. More than 100 attendees listened to presentations from 15 experts in their field of expertise, from socio-economics topics to technical colour management.

ITALY • The world’s first LED UV-enabled low migration VLF flexographic press has passed its print tests and is on schedule for commissioning next month (November) in the press hall of flexible packaging print specialist La Gerunda Merletti of Cremona.

GHANA • Flexofit announced it held its first international Flexofit Seminar in Accra, Ghana on 6 September. The Labadi Beach Hotel welcomed European industry experts from printing industry companies and the local audience in the Omanye Conference Centre.

After FachPack wound to a close, there has been a lot of information to process. Some of the big news wasn’t what was actually at the show but announcements affecting the packaging industry, like the fact that Lidl said it will ban single-use plastic bags next year.

USA • Pamarco has been spending much of this year celebrating its 70th anniversary, which started with its rebranding transition, in which it dropped the global graphics element of its name to be known just as Pamarco. It also debuted a new logo, incorporating the CMYK colours.

As the second week of drupa begins, many folks are feeling a bit exhausted and exhilirated. It is not a relaxing show, but all the innovations, exciting news and people from around the world keep everyone running on adrenaline and print energy.

GERMANY • W&H announced it will present new machines for flexographic and gravure printing at drupa in Hall 15, Booth A41. For gravure printing, it will unveil the Dynastar with its central idea of the changeable cylinder concept with slide-in carts. The machine was developed for short print runs lower than 3,000 metres.
